Cruising information

Please note that the wearing of protective face masks has become compulsory in the interior and exterior areas of vessels on all scheduled cruises and Unique Cruises as well as in the waiting and access areas (landing stages). In accordance with current regulations to maintain social distancing and prevent ticket area crowding, please purchase your ticket(s) before boarding or buy contactless after boarding.

 

Cruise questions-and-answers relating to COVID-19

For our passengers we have compiled the following essential information. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are at your service for any advice or assistance you may require.

Before the cruise
Are boats operating to ZSG’s normal timetable? Status 05.11.2020

From 19 October to 12 December 2020 all boats are operating to the regular timetable. All information about the departure times of round trips can be found in the following PDF:

Where can I buy my ticket? Status 05.11.2020

We recommend that you purchase your ticket online or contactless at the ZVV Ticket Shop. Otherwise, you can obtain your ticket from all ZVV ticket machines or directly on board. We ask you to observe the distancing regulations when buying tickets, and request that you make cashless payments whenever possible.

Do I have to reserve a seat in advance? Status 05.11.2020

Seat reservations are possible only for the on-board restaurant (together with consumption).

 

Am I sure I have a seat on the cruise? Status 05.11.2020

Due to the protection measures now in force (for example, distance maintenance), our boats are currently operating at reduced capacity. We expect that on some days the main cruises will be very busy. 

Can my bike be transported on the boat? Status 05.06.2020

The ZSG is under no obligation to transport bicycles. However, bicycles can be transported to a very limited extent.

When are the boats in Zürich Bürkliplatz and Rapperswil ready for boarding? Status 12.06.2020

The long lake cruises from Zürich Bürkliplatz and Rapperswil are ready for boarding 10 minutes before departure.

During the cruise
What security measures apply? Status 05.11.2020

Our security measures are based on the guidelines of Switzerland’s "Tourist Traffic" protection plan and the Federal Office of Public Health. A series of measures are implemented on each boat to protect the health and safety of our passengers and employees:

  • Increased cleaning
  • reduced passenger capacity
  • general mask obligation in the interior and exterior areas on all vessels
  • Hand desinfection facilities
  • Hygiene masks on sale
  • Maintaining the minimum distance
  • In the marked on-board restaurant areas, the protection plan of Switzerland’s hospitality industry (GastroSuisse/Hotellerie Suisse) applies
Are the on-board restaurants open? Status 05.11.2020

The following scheduled cruises are operating with the regular culinary service:

Long lake cruise from Zurich Bürkliplatz:

Cruise 105 / 106 departing 11.15 hrs
Cruise 109 / 110 departing 13.15 hrs

Short lake cruise from Zurich Bürkliplatz:

Monday to Friday:
Cruise 29 departing 12.30 hrs
Cruise 38 departing 14.00 hrs

Saturday and Sunday:
Cruise 20 departing 11.00 hrs
Cruise 23 departing 11.30 hrs

Can I make cashless payments? Status 05.11.2020

Yes. All major payment cards are accepted for cruise tickets and on-board restaurant purchases.

Do I need to wear a hygiene mask? Status 05.11.2020

As on all public transport in Switzerland, a general mask obligation applies in the interior and exterior areas on all vessels. Protective masks can be purchsed at the cashiers desk. Masks can be removed for eating and drinking. 

What do I have to consider on board? Status 06.06.2020

Please follow the on-board directives and comply with the instructions of the crew. We kindly ask you to respect the usual distancing regulations.

Are the Unique Cruises operating as planned? Status 05.11.2020

Yes. The following Unique Cruises are operating as planned:

  • Brunch Cruise
  • Cheese Fondie Cruise
  • Fondue Chinoise Cruise
  • Hot Stone Grill Cruise
  • New Year`s Eve Cruise

Due to current conditions and depending on the booking situation, changes may be necessary at short notice. In addition, only 50 passengers per cruise are permitted.

What are the protective health measures on board? Status 05.11.2020
  • only 50 passengers per cruise are permitted
  • The wearing of a face mask is compulsory on all boats and when boarding and disembarking. The only exception is when seated at a table
  • Eating and drinking is permitted only when seated
  • Buffet service: protective health measures are in force
  • The recording of contact data by the ZSG is compulsory
  • Minimum distance to the next table 1.5 metres
  • On our Cheese Fondue Cruise, we are happy to serve fondue in fondue pots for 2 persons (upon request)
